Product Description
"A vase atop the elephant" is
a rebus "ping ann ji xiang" which expresses the sentiment "peace,
happy and secured always". A harbinger of happiness and smooth
life, it takes away troubles. On the other hand, a kneeling elephant
with both fore legs looking like prostrating symbolizes "wealth
and honour". As the character fu in prostrate sounds like
the character in "abundance" and kneel (gui) sounds
like precious. The elephant itself symbolizes harmony, happiness,
power, wisdom, strength, protection of the home, fertility, and
success. Replicating one of the many auspicious pictures carved
on Chien Lung Emperor's throne, an elephant bearing a vase of
jewels symbolizes "wealth and power protection". With
a trunk moving backwards above its head, it connotes drawing prosperity
and abundance, especially effective if displayed facing the sea,
swimming pool or other bodies of water to magnetize money luck.
Next, the vase itself is a symbol of harmony and peace. Equally
auspicious, the sacred fungus or plant of immortality lingzhi
in the vase is associated to long life and immortality and was
believed to be ta key ingredient in the elixir of immortality.
The lingzhi's medicinal properties were first mentioned in the
oldest Chinese herbal manuscript dating back to the Qin and Han
Dynasties, Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing (The Deity of Agriculture's
Materia Medica), where it was stated that not only could it cure
and prevent disease but also extend life. This stunningly powerful
ornament pulverizes all issues related to health, paving you to
a stronger and less sickly year. Those who are vulnerable to monthly
ill winds and diseases, for example elderly people or people whose
zodiac show signs of health issues in the year may consider this
overall combination. This elephant brings about safety, savings,
power, honor, protection and prosperity altogether.
Note: This item is energy
infused and comes with certificate of authenticity. The pillow
below is also inserted with a talisman that incorporates five
major taoist incantation. They signify 1. Safety (Ping An), 2.
Wealth Flourishing, 3. Protection, 4. Harmony and Security and
5. Anti Disaster/Injury.
What the elephant symbolizes and
how to place this object?
The elephants were used in warfare by chinese
during ancient times. In fact, during the reign of Kang Hsi, the
King of Siam had sent a number of tribute elephants as gifts to
the Chinese emperor. The elephant in white color is the purest
of all form and is believed by many to be the incarnation of future
Buddha. In fact, it is known to be one of the Seven Treasures
of Buddhism. In some countries like Indochina and India, only
the Kings are allowed to ride on the elephant. It is the symbol
of royalty, power and grandness. The elephant is known for its confidence,
strength, sagacity and prudence and is one of the four animals
representing power or energy, the other three being tiger, leopard
and lion. Elephant signifies the prime minister too, because of
its chinese naming "hsiang".The elephant has many blessings
in Feng Shui. The elephant brings infant luck to those who are
wishing for babies in their lives. Buddha's mother dreamt about
a white elephant and got pregnant after that. Therefore the elephant
is a lucky omen in Buddhism. The elephant also takes away troubles
and is a protective symbol. It is a sacred animal in Thailand
and India, and is used to represent loyalty, wisdom, longevity
and elegance. It is a symbol of good luck and excellent fortune.
Statues and images of deities and kings are often depicted riding
on elephants in India and Thailand.
In ancient warfare the elephant was highly trained to be able
to withstand the clamour of battle, the thrusting of lances and
the savage onslaught of hand-held weapons. Perfect obedience,
and the ability to stand its ground amidst the bloodthirsty frezy
of the battlefield, were prerequisites of the valiant war elephant.
Due to its sheer physical might the elephant destroyed much that
was in its path, it could ford rivers, blaze trails or clear pathways,
and batter against doorways and fortifications. As such it became
the unstoppable "remover of obstacles". It is immutable and unshakeable.
